Let's Touch Grass
"You would not believe the cool birds I’ve seen..."
I made these soy garlic Bonchon style chicken wings last night and they were easy and unbelievably good. The last time I had real Bonchon it was kind of over-fried and too crispy, so these were actually better. Roll that beautiful wing footage:
I would have thought it was much harder to make these, so if you’re a wing-eating person at all, my advice is give them a shot. This is not a paid endorsement.
Also not a paid endorsement…
Or an endorsement of any kind whatsoever: projecting your face onto a tabletop robo-head, an idea that was bad enough conceptually even before they gave it the name WeHead.
Here’s me learning about the WeHead:
Actually it’s what The Daily Mail claims an extremely unbiased U.K. office furniture store claims that remote workers will look like in the year 2100. I have bad news for them all about what I look like right this minute. Honestly her triceps are kinda banging here? The whole upper arm situation is not bad.
But none of that is my point today.
My point today is to convince you to read the newest Liz Lopatto column, “Some things you can do if you’re sick of social media,” because you and I both know you’re sick of social media.
Google search is less usable, social media is more unpleasant, and Amazon is making it harder to find quality goods. If online is getting worse, maybe the easiest thing to do is log off. You would not believe the cool birds I’ve seen or how well-seasoned my cast iron is. Also, I’ve generally found that when I go places in real life, there are people standing around who know things and can answer my questions? And there’s no glurge? Get some enrichment outside of your enclosure today!
I don’t know about you but if I don’t make a plan, I will mess around the house and fuck around online until another whole day has frittered by and I will never accomplish anything like “getting offline” or “touching grass” or “meeting a real person in the actual world.” So let’s make a plan.
